Over 100 celebrities, icons, campaigners, and businesses have pledged their support for Veganuary, a pledge to go vegan in January and beyond, according to the non-profit group Veganuary.

Jane Goodall, Paul McCartney, and Ricky Gervais are among the stars to have signed the open letter with a message of hope for the future.  The letter urges everyone to help fight climate change and prevent pandemics with a vegan diet.

Chris Packham, letter signatory and Veganuary Ambassador shared in an emailed statement, “Trashing the planet does none of us any good, as the coronavirus pandemic shows all too clearly. But we can emerge from this stronger and wiser, with a renewed commitment to protecting the environment, its inhabitants, and our own futures. Being vegan is a great way to support the natural world and to live sustainably.”

According to Veganuary, the cadre of signatories include actors, athletes, business leaders, and musicians including Alan Cumming, Lily Cole, Beverley Callard, Paul McCartney, Chrissie Hynde, Patrik Baboumian, and Dale Vince.

Join the call the action, “Today, we are urging everyone to help build a better future by signing up to try vegan this January with Veganuary. Together, we can create a world that is kinder and safer for all.” You can sign and join over 250,000 people in making a pledge for vegan January.
