TikTok has no shortage of cooking hacks, tips, and recipes, and if you’re a member of what people lovingly call Food TikTok, you’ve probably seen a lot of interesting things on your For You page. But unless you’ve seen this video of a person cooking steak in the toaster, you definitely haven’t seen it all!
The video in question was posted by TikTok user @itsmeju1iette. The short video, which is set to It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas, shows her putting two very delicious looking steaks in the toaster with the captions “How to cook a steak” and “Cooking steak for my boyfriend.” We see the steak go in and then come out…looking actually really good? But the fact that it was made in the toaster made us SUSPICIOUS and also VERY UPSET. People in the comments agreed saying they couldn’t decide if the toasting was the worst part or if it was the fact that she then smothers the meat in sauce.

This is the part where I must tell you that this is kind of @itsmeju1iette’s thing. Whether she’s simply an adventurous cook or a troll remains to be seen, but her whole page is full of videos where she makes spaghetti and meatballs in a coffee maker and hot dogs by putting them in the dryer. Honestly, I mostly worry about her appliances!! Can you put toast in there after raw meat? Can you sleep knowing your sheets were dried where there were once hot dogs???
Whether she’s trolling us all or not, it turns out she might be on to something with her toaster steak. YouTubers Rhett and Link cooked steaks on a variety of household appliances including an iron, a dishwasher, and, yes, a toaster. The toasted steak seemed to turn out the best, so…I guess you could do this if you wanted to! Just always be sure to make sure your meat is cooked to a safe temperature!!! I, for one, will be sticking to the grill, but rock on with your bad selves, I guess.
Now I’m just waiting for Gordon Ramsay to see this TikTok…
