    We’re devoted to each other… but could we really live together?

    As for me, given that Susan and David will be celebrating their 50th anniversary this December, I understand them both pretty well. Their house, their rules – even if Susan insists on labelling me a complete domestic slut.  Then there’s the business of what we eat. Or rather what we don’t. David is a wee bit fussy. Aubergines, Ronny’s favourite food, cannot be spoken of. Coriander causes conniptions. Cream is forbidden. Soups are OK if they have bits in them, but not liquidised. Spices, no thank you. Salmon, not on David’s watch. Asparagus, not on Susan’s. And so the list

    The first ever pro-vegan commercial has been broadcast in Israel, making a provocative statement with a live lamb. The advert shows a young couple in a grocery store, looking to buy ‘extra fresh’ lamb from the meat counter. After the woman asks again for the meat to be “extra fresh”, the butcher comes out holding a live lamb, leaving the couple visibly uncomfortable. A voiceover asks viewers to “make the connection” between the meat we eat and the animals it comes from.     Earlier this month, the Big Fresno Fair announced it would be pulling its annual concerts series for 2020. At the time, the fair said it could not get needed approval from the Fresno County Department of Public Health for use of the Paul Paul Theater due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it was working with health officials on modifications that would allow the fair to continue to operate at some capacity.
